Ashwini Ramaswamy’s Let the Crows Come
Evoking mythography and ancestry, Let the Crows Come uses the metaphor of crows as messengers for the living and guides for the departed—and in the process explores how memory and homeland channel guidance and dislocation. The work features three dance solos by Ramaswamy (Bharatanatyam), Alanna Morris-Van Tassel (Contemporary/Afro-Caribbean), and Berit Ahlgren (Gaga), with original music by Jace Clayton (aka dj/rupture), Brent Arnold, and Prema Ramamurthy.
