A New Home for Ragamala

As we approach our 30th anniversary season, Ragamala is proud to announce that we are moving into a new studio and office space at the Center for Performing Arts in South Minneapolis. This is a pivotal moment of opportunity for our Ragamala family and an ideal time to invest in Ragamala’s future.

We have been searching for an opportunity like this for many years, and until now have found nothing that compares to the benefits CFPA will enable:

  • A new home in a large, light-filled, professionally-outfitted dance studio, where we can nurture our creative, inclusive, and educational vision.

  • Access to two shared theater spaces, event spaces, additional dance studios, short-term accommodation, and more, all in the same building.

  • A bridge to a post-COVID workplace environment that prioritizes communal workspace and shared resources.

  • A warm, vibrant, and creative environment where we can welcome Ragamala’s large, diverse family of artists, community members, students and parents, artistic collaborators, institutional partners, donors, and many more.

  • A place where all are welcome, with full ADA-accessibility, ample parking, and located on two bus routes.

  • A digitally-native building, equipped with state-of-the-art live-streaming capabilities, where we can continue to explore how virtual programming can make our work stronger, more relevant, and more accessible, even after we are able to come together in person again.

  • An efficient heating, cooling, and an HVAC system with high quality air filtration to create a safe environment for our performers, students, and guests.

The pandemic has left us recommitted to Ragamala’s mission. We know what life is like without the shared experiences that Ragamala creates, and we know that the work of artists like Ragamala will be necessary if our communities are going to fully recover from one of the most challenging years of our lifetime.

A challenge grant from RaiseMN has added a $5,000 match to help support our move. Any gifts received by April 15 qualify for the match!
