Ragamala Training Center
Through the Ragamala Training Center, we immerse students of all ages in South Indian arts and culture; instill confidence, self-esteem, and discipline; provide strong female role models; and pass on our high standards and rigorous work ethic to the next generation.
NOW ENROLLING FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR!
Online/Digital Engagement
Educational sessions, live-streamed demonstrations, dance classes, lectures on cultural hybridity/the South Asian experience, and performances with artist introductions are a few examples of the digital content we can provide for your audiences and classrooms.
Community Engagement
Through extensive community engagement programs, we demystify the cultural roots of our work and provide opportunities for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to feel connected to cultures that may initially seem unfamiliar.
Repertory
Through original dance works for the stage, we explore the myth and spirituality of our Indian heritage in order to examine the perennial question of the immigrant: how do we preserve what has been inherited while evolving it to new circumstances and places?
Connect
Your gift supports the creation of new work, sustains our school, and cements a future for this art form and its artists. Celebrate the artists and trailblazers at Ragamala, and help us demonstrate the power of the arts to forge connections across boundaries of culture, ethnicity and faith.
